Decked out with warm cream, beige and brown undertones,this703square foot family home in Taikoo Shing embodies a Japanese vibe, creating an inviting urban retreat for its occupants.

Occupied by a mother and son duo,this703square foot apartment in Taikoo Shing features an almost retro Japanese vibe, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle city life. The owner is a physician specialising in traditional Chinese medicine, who runs a busy clinic on Hong Kong Island. As such,he wanted to ensure his home was filled with peace and tranquillity, creating a private oasis where he could escape the stress of his day.A fan of Japanese culture,he has spent years working on his carpentry skills and was very keen to collaborate with Keith Chan from Hintegro Ltd on the design of his apartment.

In order to create a clearly defined foyer, the team introduced a tailor-made Japanese screen from KITOTE to mark the start of the entrance to the main living and dining areas. The area has been decorated with subtle grey tiles from Living Ceramics and a Cone M Accordion chandelier from Niguramu, while the walls feature a pale cream covering up top and a warm wooden finish down below, making it feel almost like a traditional tatami room.

This welcoming colour scheme extends into the main lounge itself, which plays home to an inviting lowprofile brown leather sofa and matching armchair with footstool that perfectly match the delicately textured wallpaper.Blessed with an oversized window, clean white blinds provide protection from the sun and create an air of privacy.
